World Cup Jerseys

For Croatia, there jerseys over the past decades have used the red and white checkered pattern from their flag into their uniform. One look at the Red and White and you know it is them. Similar to the Brazil jersey, I went with a fade of the pattern into the body of the uniform to make it more subtle.

When Nike made the Norway kit for the 2026 World Cup, it was the chefs kiss of beauty. I remade the chain pattern on the Blue of the flag for the top and shrunk the crest a bit to fit within it. The Nordic lettering would stay as it was a unique touch. I swapped out the standard collar and gave the top a collar similar to that of the Vikings but without the string to tighten it. The tree of life was also added on the bottom of the uniform to give it more of the historical significance.

When looking at the South Africa kits for the tournament, they were very lacking in creativity. They were just Yellow and Green and didn’t have much of touch of South African culture to it. For the big pattern on the top I was inspired by the bead work on South African bracelets and knew I needed to include that. Instead of a standard crewneck I went with an unbuttoned collar to maintain the traditional look. Finally I included the South African flag colors for the bottom of the sleeves.

When coming up with Frances uniform I knew immediately I wanted to do something like what Napoleon Bonaparte would wear. I wanted to include a style of a sash on the front as well as some Gold accents along with a collar. The additions of the French colors on the sleeves and bottom gave it more of a French National look too.

When watching the US play this tournament I had mixed feelings of the Home and Away kits. The waving red stripes was a distinct look that when you saw the team on the pitch you knew it was the US, but also looked a bit much. For the Home jersey I kept the Red and White of the waving flag but changed the shoulders to be Blue with slightly darker stars to make it look more like they are wearing the flag. I am also a huge fan of having a top blend into the bottoms which you will see often in this series of jerseys.
For the Away jersey I kept the same style but made the waving stripes two shades of Blue for a more subtle look

When first working on the US series of kits, I was all over the place for what I wanted and had a few different ideas. The waving flag kit was much more noisy than this one and sometimes a quieter design can be nice too. More of a simple and traditional look, the Blue and White shorts can be interchangeable with one another giving a clean prep look. The slightly darker stars provide a simple addition that do still show its patriotism without looking like it will be worn by your drunk uncle at a fourth of July celebration.

Keeping on track with something simple, this kit, more specifically, the Home kit, was inspired by the Redcoats from the American Revolution. The Red shoulders give it a nice accent without compromising on the majority White of the uniform. I went for a classic collar on this again and gave it a Gold button like the French kit to provide as an accent like their military uniforms did back then.

When looking at the kits for this tournament, there was a cool wavy pattern on them that I liked and wanted to expand on more. Going with a fade to the shorts, the usage of the Swiss alps and Matterhorn were a must. The wavy pattern behind the Matterhorn is the topographical map of the Matterhorn to further reinforce the iconic landmark into the uniform.

For the Brazil kit, I knew I had to stick with the classis Yellow as the home color. Something too iconic to change up. The big thing for this was the jaguar print on the shoulders. While not the official national animal for Brazil, it is widely celebrated for both its cultural and ecological significance in the Amazon.
